Farmhouse Chic Kitchen

This project features a beautifully crafted set of soft, goblet pleated valances for a farmhouse chic kitchen, designed to enhance both style and functionality. The valances were made from an embroidered stripe fabric, expertly used in the horizontal orientation to create a visually striking pattern that complements the room's rustic, yet refined aesthetic. The design was carefully tailored to highlight the fabric’s intricate embroidery while adding a touch of sophistication to the space.

The pleated valances were hung over the kitchen sink, paired with custom-finished wood rods and metal rings to achieve a harmonious balance between natural materials and industrial elements. The wood rods lend a warm, rustic touch, while the metal rings provide a modern contrast, resulting in a versatile, timeless look.

For light control and privacy, the window treatments were paired with unlined, natural woven shades. These shades allow the kitchen to stay bright and airy during the day, while still offering the necessary privacy and light filtration for the space.

Attention to detail was a key aspect of this project. The top of each valance was finished with a 1" binding of the same embroidered fabric, creating a clean, cohesive edge. The bottom edge was thoughtfully folded below the embroidered detail and finished with a flat welt in the same fabric, adding a polished, tailored appearance. The use of metal rings with a custom-finished smooth wood pole completed the look, ensuring a seamless integration of form and function.

This project demonstrates how thoughtful design and meticulous craftsmanship can transform a farmhouse kitchen, offering a perfect blend of elegance, warmth, and rustic charm.

Home Office

Light control was needed when this client began working from home in the sitting area of her master suite. Single-pleat panels at sill length allowed her to continue to let in the sunlight or reduce the glare when the panel is closed.

Updating the Family Room and Kitchen

This beautiful home was ready for updated window treatments and upholstery. We removed the heavy swags and panels. They were replaced by lighter, simpler treatments that complimented the existing faux finished walls and area rug in the family room. The couches and chairs were reupholstered and the shirts were removed. 

Lighten things up

After updating the tile and countertops in their kitchen, it was time for new window treatments and to take the dark, Tuscan influence out of these rooms. A beautiful, Kravet floral was perfect for these scalloped valances and an embroidered, neutral knot pattern replaced dark, silk panels on the arched rods in the family room.

This beautiful manor in the rolling hills of Tewksbury needed window treatments to make it feel like home. Light colored fabrics were selected with a gold banding detail, which complimented the rug and accents in the two rooms.

Bedroom Before and After - Beautiful both ways!

I created this timelessly beautiful bedroom for my client 12 years ago. The red silk panels were fading, due to intense sunlight, and the room was ready for an update. Several of the fabrics we had originally used were discontinued. A white fabric was selected for the panels and top of the duvet cover. Coordinating trims and the banding on the original panels was used to keep a cohesive look in the room.

This family home was ready for a refresh with new pain and window treatments. These white, petit pleat roller shades with matching valances brightened up every room on the main floor. The cordless shades were inside mounted and the 10" deep valances were outside mounted above the windows.
